Can anyone tell what's dividends?

They are just portions of a company's profits distributed to shareholders.

When you pay dividends, let's say you want to pay a dividend amounting to 100USD, the money goes to the owner(s) of the company in accordance to their % of the company's shares. Let's say two people are owning the company each 50%, then each will get 50USD
