As the title says if I have multiple retail stores in the same city does it do anything like double droid sales or is it useless.

The amount of items bought by droids is determined per city, and is mainly influenced by the amount of players that live in that city. Droids visit stores in each city at random, so having multiple stores could potentially get you more sales, as long as the limit of items bought by droids hasn't been reached yet.
